More Passengers Behaving Badly: Chongqing Passenger Opens Airplane Safety Door
Jan 14, 2015 By eChinacities.com

Chinese passengers have been creating quite a ruckus recently as several people just don’t seem to get how plane journeys work.

Stewardesses were shocked when a middle-aged male passenger on a flight from Lhasa to Chongqing opened a security door and released the emergency slide while the plane was taxiing at Chongqing.

Runway workers immediately called 110  and the man was escorted from the airport by police.

Airplane authorities issued a reminded that opening an emergency door carries a fine of 100,000 RMB a time, in a hope that people will just sit in their seats and behave in the upcoming Spring Festival peak travel season.

Before I thought it was just a Beijing phenomena, even in the 90s people pushed to get on the bus whereas in other parts of the country people waited patiently to get on the bus. People getting on the train were orderly before too. And don't even get me started about the idiots that talk too loudly on the subway and won't let people out first. The elevator invaders make me laugh. I just put my arms out so they have to wait. For people that have been here for a long time I feel that people still don't understand how to let people out of the elevator first. And if one more clown pushes me when someone is putting away their luggage on the plane..... I tell them that it isn't a public bus.

Well, just the other day I was taking the speed train and was waiting to get on the train. I was first in the line and obviously waiting for the people to get off the train first before I could get on. I noticed the people behind me fighting their animalistic nature to charge on the train into the people getting on... I stood there calmly and noticed every few seconds people were sort of getting closer and nudging me a little. But I stood firm. Then a few couldn't take it anyone and ran right into people getting off looking like idiots. I just calmly stood there until all the other people were off. I think even animals wait for other animals to cross before they go. I think even animals understand that a tangible living object can't be passed through just because they want to keep moving. Beware the Chinese traveler and traveling in China... especially during Spring Festival.

LOL...that's so true and they expect to get respected as a nation, in their wild dreams. I have to mention those stupid smokers who get off of the train at every single station to get their dose of nicotine, therefore interrupting the flow of people because those donkeys stay near the door puffing on their cigarettes.

I think you're right about the airport staff now too. There weren't that many delays before, but then again there weren't that's many flights. Before flights weren't delayed that often and the staff handled it better.

Brainless pilgrims should be restricted to donkeys, but they'd probably eat them.

Soon they won't be able to fly overseas.

What is wrong with people here now? Chinese never did this in the 90s when they flew. People's behavior has gotten worse and worse. I can't believe how crazy they are now.

I cannot agree with you more. The behaviour of Chinese recently has been totally and utterly disgusting. Some of the things I see them do on a daily basis astounds me! I think it's a combination of being brain dead and having no respect for others.

I'd say now China has more people who didn't even finish high school with plenty of money to spare on air tickets. The other side of the problem as it seems is that this same type of people are becoming airlines' staff, airports' managers and directors because that's the only way I can explain their frequent delays and horrible incoordination. Chinese airports are just a messy jungle, I've had my own share of awkward moments at the airports here, things I had never seen at other airports in other countries.

They should label it "Exit for Those Who Do Not Have Money". I bet you no one will open it for fear of losing face.

Maybe they should change the "出口EXIT" sign for another one that says "紧急出口EMERGENCY EXIT" or at least make sure that whoever sits next to the emergency door seems to have some kind of high education. LOL

That's true. It does just say exit. Of course the stewardess is suppose to explain it is only for emergencies and there are pamphlets in every chair... But we are talking about Chinese people here.
