McDonald's Moving in on Shenzhen Metro Markets
Jun 30, 2010 By eChinacities.com

McDonald's Shenzhen branch company recently signed an agreement with Shenzhen Metro Group allowing McDonald's to open restaurants in Shenzhen Metro's business development projects. According to the agreement, for the next five years, McDonald's is to have the first pick of locations in underground business development projects, as well as in aboveground real estate operations initiated by Shenzhen Metro. This is the first time that a McDonald's franchise has joined up with a municipal metro authority in China.

The agreement includes an exclusive clause that states Shenzhen Metro must provide McDonald's with the first pick of locations for opening their restaurants, and once McDonald's has decided on a location, Shenzhen Metro is to turn away other similar fast food joints from opening up shops nearby.
