28 year-old Lin Senhao, on death row for poisoning his university roommate Huang Yang, has written a letter to Huang’s family asking for their forgiveness. Huang’s family has refused to accept the letter. Lin is expected to be executed on December 8.

Lin was convicted in February in Shanghai, 10 months after killing his Fudan University roommate by putting toxic chemical nitrosodumethylamine into a water dispenser in their bedroom over a trivial grudge, as described by the Shanghai Daily.

Lin later claimed that it was a prank, however Huang died 15 days later.
