Location and Climate

Hefei, the capital of Anhui Province, is located in the central region of China between the Yangtze and Huaihe Rivers, not far north of Chaohu Lake.

Hefei enjoys a mild, humid, subtropical monsoon climate. The average maximum temperature is 31 degrees C (88 Degrees F) in summer and 8.6 degrees C (46.3 Degrees F) in winter. The annual rainfall is about 1000 millimeters: the rainiest months are from May to August, when Hefei receives about half of its annual precipitation. The city has about 2100 hours of sunshine each year.
