Tourists will no longer have to worry about hotels raising their rates without due notice because starting from the May holidays, Sanya government will start posting official hotel rates online. This is the first time that the local government has temporarily stepped in and intervened with how local hotels set their rates. Sanya has recently started checking and managing hotel rates in parts of their jurisdiction and will start posting the official rates on http://wj.sanya.gov.cn on April 21st. So far, they've listed official rates for 77 different hotels in the region for the May holidays.
