Zhao Muyang is a legendary figure in China’s rock music scene. He was the drummer of such influential rock bands as The Breathing and The Dreaming. He was also bestowed with the title “Drum King” of China. However, he has since turned his attention to folk music, and is now considered one of the most original and revered players in the scene. Zhao fuses traditional Shanxi opera and Chinese instruments with melancholic lyrics. This March, he plays an acoustic set at Lan Kwai Fong Bar in Jinan.
