An eyesore or a throwback to a simpler time? We say a delightful throwback.
Kunming’s old school phone building has us reminicising about the good ol’ days when phones had antennas and you rarely had to worry if your fingers were too fat to press the button; a time when snake was the only go-to distraction when sitting on the underground.
The “phone” is 11 stories high, and painted a splendid orange color. Windows on the higher floors act as the screen and windows further down have various essential icons on phones taped onto them. But our favorite thing has to be the slender fingers that hold the phone.
And in case you were wondering, yes the “phone” is a big mobile phone store. Hopefully the phones inside are more up-to-date than the outside.
