Kunming currently has 9 subway lines under construction, with Line 6 and the Changshui International Airport line being operational since June 28, 2012.  In total, the line has two stops: East Bus Station and Airport Central Station.  The East Bus Station is south from the Bus Transportation hub and has two exits: Exit 1 goes towards Hongqiao Lu, and Exit B goes towards The East Bus Station Waiting Area.  The Airport Central Station is situated on the second basement level floor of Changshui International Airport and is connected to the terminal building. Both stations have trains that run from 9:00 to 18:10, departing at intervals of 25 minutes. The entire journey takes 21-23 minutes. Please note that bus doors close three minutes prior to departure.

Tickets cost 5 RMB, and can be discounted by 10% with a rechargeable subway card.  Travelers with senior citizen cards enjoy a 50% discount.  A senior citizen support card (for those assisting a senior citizen) is also available for free. Furthermore, Line 1 plans to officially open to the public at the end of 2012, and Line 2 will also be open at the end of 2012 after a few adjustments.  Other lines are still in the construction or planning phases.
