Joy Air MA60 Swerves Off Runway in Fuzhou, 7 Injured

A plane belonging to Chinese carrier Joy Air carrying 45 passengers swerved off the runway last night when landing in Fuzhou. Seven passengers suffered minor injuries. The Fuzhou airport was closed for more than 5 hours after the accident, affecting more than 80 flights and leaving 4,000 passengers stranded. Joy Air has apologized for the incident on social media, and the accident is currently under investigation.

CCTV reported that the accident may have been due to damage to the aircraft landing gear. Chinese-made MA60 or Modern Ark 60 planes, have had at least 17 accidents over the past six years. Seven of these accidents were related to the plane's landing gear.

"17 accidents over the past six years. Seven of these accidents were related to the plane's landing gear." Averaging one landing gear accident per year for the last 6 years. For a country that builds high speed trains and sends astronauts into space, how come? Cheap flights don't have much face?
