The Chinese B Team won the World Series of Mahjong Championship, which was held in Jeju Island, South Korea. China’s Zhou Yong from Baoying,Yangzhou was crowned individual champion, and Jiao Linghua from Shanxi came in second. A French competitor won third place.
The good showing was a necessary comeback for the Chinese team. At the 5th European Mahjong Championship held last July, the team came in 37 out of 51 teams, and the top Chinese individual player placed 30th.
