In terms of commercial streets, Yuexiu District has Beijing Road and Liwan District has Shangxiajiu Road. Now Haizhu District has Jiangnanxi Road. At the moment, the 520-meter-long aerial defense tunnel under Jiangnanxi Road is undergoing final furnishing. In March, the Phase I Underground Commercial Street will open and welcome customers, which covers an area of 20,000 square meters and connects directly to Metro Line 2 (Jiangnanxi Exit A).
This underground shopping mall is built on the basis of the aerial defense tunnel and is called "Jiangnan New Paradise", whose overall furnishing is nearly done. The underground space is 7 meters high with over 200 stores busy decorating. The whole "Jiangnan New Paradise" project was divided into two phases. Phase I tunnel will be 520 meters long covering an area of 18,000 square meters. The Phase II tunnel will be 330 meters long.
