Jaycee Chan Apologizes in First Public Appearance since Release
Feb 16, 2015 By eChinacities.com

Jaycee Chan made his first appearance in public since being released from jail on Saturday February 14, to apologize for his actions.

The 32-year-old actor and singer was arrested in August 2014, after police raided his house and he tested positive for marijuana. He and Taiwanese actor Kai Ko were detained, but while Ko was released several days later, Chan was charged with the more serious offence of ‘sheltering others to take drugs’.

Appearing in a dark suit, he apologized for the “negative impact on society” that his drug-taking caused, as well as “disappointing people who supported me and causing losses for people who have worked with me”.

He then gave a deep bow of apology before and after the statement, during which he described his contemplative life in jail, which he apparently spent chatting to cell mates and reading about Buddhism.
