Japanese Tea House Settles in GDUFS Campus

A ceremony was held on April 22nd to inaugurate the operation of the first Japanese tea house, known to be the first one in South China, standing on the campus of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (GDUFS). The tea house was established for the purpose of teaching Japanese culture.

The cost for the tea hours was RMB 700 thousand (RMB540 thousand provided by Japan and RMB160 thousand offered by GDUFS) and was built following the tradition of the tea houses in Japan with all of the construction materials, like wood and paper, being purchased from Japan and brought to GDUFS for the construction of this site.
