On March 16, Huadu District revealed that it had decided to establish an Optical-electronic Industrial Base in the hope of making it another industrial pillar for Huadu.

 

Starting from this year, Guangzhou will annually arrange RMB 60 million as technology development fund to support the commercialization of one hi-tech project in each of Guangzhou's 12 districts (county-level cities). The project has been named "Independent Innovation – District –Action Plan". For Huadu, the project chosen is its LED industrial plan which is now being promoted.

 

At present, the planning and construction of Guangzhou (Huadu) Optical-electronic Industrial Base has been officially listed on the agenda of the municipal and district governments. The Huadu District Technology Bureau also organized the Huadu Airport Commission, Sun Yat-sen University and Guangzhou Hongli Opto-electronic Co. Ltd to apply for the project of Guangzhou Optical-electronic Industrial Base and Guangzhou Semiconductor Lighting Industrial Innovation Platform.
