A horse kicked and dented the fender of a BMW after being honked at by the driver on Tuesday in Nanchang, Jiangxi. Police found the BMW driver to be fully responsible for the damages.

A man leading a horse was walking alongside rush hour traffic at an intersection in Nanchang, when a BMW driver making a turn honked at him to move quicker and tried to cut them off. The horse was spooked and kicked the BMW’s right fender.

Traffic police were called to the scene where they determined that the BMW driver was fully responsible for the incident. The BMW driver had originally stopped the man with the horse until police came to ask for damages.

Traffic police stated that according to the relevant provisions, the man and horse had the right of way in the situation and the BMW driver should have waited. Police said that the man was properly supervising the horse and not letting it run wild. The BMW did not let the horse go first, and honked his own. Honking is not allowed in Nanchang. Therefore, the BMW driver was fully responsible for the accident.

There are no laws in Nanchang that ban horses from walking on public roads.
