To meet the needs of Tianjin’s expanding house management market, over 23,000 people have been trained to care for old people, and serve as housekeepers, nannies and house cleaners in Tianjin in 2011. The booming market has also attracted many university graduates and overseas Chinese students who speak English and understand the foreign lifestyle to work as “high-end” housekeepers for Tianjin’s international and upper-class Chinese populations, where they can earn a reported 6,000-8,000 RMB monthly salary.
