Hello, Kitty: Rubber Duck Artist Reveals Latest Creation in Century Park
Jun 03, 2014 By eChinacities.com

Florentijn Hofman the Dutch artist behind the sensationally over-hyped inflatable rubber duck, has brought his latest creation to Shanghai.

His latest work is smaller, standing at ‘only’ ten meters, and is made from bamboo. The artist wanted to use traditional Chinese materials this time round and says that his work was inspired by the stray cats he saw around Shanghai’s parks.

The rubber duck caused borderline hysteria upon its arrival in China, with crowds flocking to the Summer Palace to visit, and Taiwanese visitors declaring a minute of silence after the duck deflated whilst resting in Keelung Harbor.
