Heavy Snow Disrupts Traffic in Beijing

Heavy snow hits Beijing on Sunday (Jan. 3), leading to the cancellations of flights and closures of highways.

As of 22:42 on January 3, 520 flights were delayed and 756 flights were cancelled at the Capital International Airport in Beijing due to the heavy snow. The snow also resulted in closures of Many Highways in the capital city.

China Southern Airlines has postponed some domestic flights bound for Beijing on Sunday. Passengers can call 95539 to check flight situation.

China International Airlines cancelled all domestic flights departing Beijing after 17:00 on January 3. Passengers can call 6454 1111 or 6454 1100 for updated flight news and call 4008 100 999 to rebook another flights for free.

Tianjin, the neighboring city, has closed the city's airport till January 4, 6:00am.
