Harbin Travel Tips

Harbin's weather is both its major selling point and its biggest flaw depending on your point of view. During the long winters (November to February) it is the coldest city in China ,where temperatures can plummet as low as - 40 but visitors armed with enough warm layers will fare well and enjoy the city. Even though it is cold, it's still quite dry, so thick moisturizers are a must, and visitors would be well advised to top up on hot water and tea throughout the day.

In summer, Harbin is a cool 20C on average, which makes it an attractive escape from sweltering temperatures elsewhere in China.
