Central Street of Harbin 中央大街

One of the main commercial streets in Harbin, this 1.4-km-long street is a genuine museum of European architectural styles, including Baroque and Byzantine façades, blending Eastern and Western traditions. This street was originally built in 1898 and renamed Central Street in 1925. It’s remarkable as the longest pedestrian street in Asia. St. Sophia Cathedral, a Russian Orthodox Church, is also located in this area. Today the Church is a museum that showcases the multi-cultural architecture of Harbin.

Guogeli Street 果戈里大街
Built in 1901 in the distinctively Russian style, it’s the place to go for Russian goods, including Russian dolls, furs, handicrafts, clothes and army supplies.
