According to official calculations given by the Hangzhou Tourism Committee, the golden week for the National Day holidays has attracted a total of around 12.86 million visitors to different attractions in Hangzhou – an increase of 22% from last year. Of the visitors in Hangzhou during golden week, the West Lake Scenic Area alone received over 4 million visitors. Retail revenues for the area have also broken records for the holidays, bringing in around 15.96 million RMB – an increase of 28.63% from last year.
