Feb 14, 2014 By eChinacities.com

According to an HSBC survey, China beat out Germany and Singapore as the favored country in terms of employment packages for expatriates. The survey interviewed more than 7,000 overseas employees. The results were based on employment conditions and the experience of raising children in a foreign country.

In 2012 there were 240,000 expatriates employed in mainland China and this number has kept rising. Beijing and Shanghai are still the preferred destination for foreigners, and about half are from USA and one fifth are British citizens.
