Guilin' s ancient waterways and lakes have recently been renovated and linked up to form a network of attractions within the city known as Two Rivers and Four Lakes, formed by linking the Li and Taohua rivers with Guihu Lake, Ronghu Lake, Shanhu Lake and Mulong Lake.

Elephant Trunk Hill (Xiangbi Shan), located at the confluence of the Taohua (Peach Blossom) River and the Li River, resembles a giant elephant dipping its trunk into the water.
