According to a 2010 Report on Competitiveness of Chinese Cities recently released by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, two metropolises in Guangdong Province have been ranked in the top 10 for being “most competitive”. Shenzhen ranked second and Guangzhou ranked sixth place. Though the results for both cities were the same last year, this year's report shows Tianjin quickly catching up to Guangzhou.
According to the report, the top 10 most competitive Chinese cities are Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Beijing, Taipei, Guangzhou, Tianjin, Kaohsiung (in Taiwan), Dalian and Qingdao.
