According to the new bus and metro fare promotion plan released on Dec. 16th, passengers who take the bus and metro in Guangzhou for 15 times using the Yangchengtong IC card will enjoy a discount of 40%. The discount will start from the 16th time they take public transport within one month. The current separated monthly package for bus and metro fare will be cancelled. The bus promotion will be put into effect from January 1st 2010 onwards, while the plan for metro fare will not be carried out until May 2010. The cards can be purchased at metro stations.
