Global Cost of Living Survey: Shanghai Ranked 40th, Beijing 57th Place

According to research done by the Economist magazine based in the UK, 132 cities around the world were surveyed based on several criteria related to costs of living. The top three cities that were ranked as having the highest cost of living in the world in 2009 were Paris (2nd place in 2008) , Tokyo (4th place in 2008), and O slo. Similarly, Shanghai was ranked 40th, and Beijing took 57th place.
