Feb 17, 2009 By eChinacities.com

The construction plan for the Palace Museum of the Nanyue Kingdom (an ancient kingdom founded over 2,200 years ago) was approved at the executive meeting held on February 9th. The construction and planning of the museum would embody features of historic sites and should take on responsibility for the protection of cultural relics. Additionally, it was determined that the project should meet the standards of World Heritage sites. Moreover, the building should be built to feature the Lingnan architectural style, yet be built in such a way that it fully serves the public. The detailed planning would be unveiled as soon as possible and the project is expected to be completed before the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games.
