There are about 1,800 buses running on the streets of Fuzhou. Some of the fleet was replaced in 2006 with ''pollution free'' buses. From October 16 to May 14, the buses charge a flat fee of 1 RMB for any journey, but this rises to 2 RMB from May 15 to October 15 when air conditioned buses are rolled out. Visitors should ensure they have change ready before boarding. The lines are identified either by name or by number.
