Fujian Man Beat Up for Dancing in the Street

Fujian Man Beat Up for Dancing in the Street
Sep 06, 2015 By eChinacities.com

A man grooving to music on the streets of Shishi, Fujian, was randomly punched in the face by a passerby who was annoyed by his dancing.

“I saw a man walking down the street, he suddenly began shaking his butt. I wanted to hit him,” said Wang, the attacker, later in police custody.

Wang told police that he despises “feminine” men. He had been walking behind Xu, the victim, on the street and noticed that he was wearing tight red pants and humming to a song. Xu then began to shake his booty, which was too much for Wang to handle.

Wang then punched Xu multiple times while yelling insults at him.

“I needed to put an end to his sissy behavior,” said Wang, explaining why he randomly beat up Xu on the street.

Later in police custody, Wang apologized to Xu after severe criticism from the cops. Wang agreed to pay Xu’s medical expenses, and Xu told Wang he forgave him.

guy should not have hit him but at the same time the prancer should have remembered he was in a public place and acted in accordance. thats the problem with the mentality of a lot of Chinese people they think that freedom of expression that intrudes on other peoples space is ok cos if you touch them they will sue. scooter riders being the most obvious examples. posting not as a guest so i dont get labeled a sissy.

I think it was kind of him to punch him. Though I doubt it was hard...or caused very little medical bills. I hope to see more of this world wide... there should be less tolerance to effeminate men.

For a culture that desperately clings to "squat holes" instead of toilets...Effeminate psychosis and insecure masculinities are almost certain...So go knock yerself out, dude...the reasons there to do so.

Seems to me it would probably have been a comical moment being behind someone who is shaking their behind. I would have probably been laughing either to myself or outloud, depending on my mood and/or the situation...

The only men who want to react violently to sth like this are men who are struggling with their own sexual identity. Ask any professional therapist. I don't like it so I just look away.

Yeah, if you are secure in your masculinity and you don't like the way someone is dancing the correct response is to challenge them to a dance-off and publicly shame them.

That is because the moderator is now only part time, and probably not even proficient in English. The editorial content of this site has dropped dramatically since the start of this year, so i am not surprised at the poor quality of the featured articles, the blogs that are nothing more than cut and paste puff pieces or spams, and the proliferation of trolls.

If I stopped to assault every man that was wearing capri pants, sporting a womans bag or carrying a purse then I would get nothing done. Good to see China takes hate crimes seriously - he was severely criticised by the police. He will think twice before doing that again.

Guest 314114 is not even brave enough to post under 'his' ECC alias which is 'quyen' - great name by the way. Most internet trolls are inadequate in real life and needs to compensate by never contributing in a meaningful way to any debate online. Keep it up 'quyen'. we all know who you are !! Also, to the translator, please get someone to check your translations - the end of the story seem muddled.
