Free Bike Rental at New Cycling Bases in Miyun
Aug 11, 2009 By eChinacities.com
The Beijing suburb Miyun has set up its first batch of five government funded bicycle bases, which are oriented towards tourists and free of charge. The bases provide 150 mountain bikes and double “lovers” tandem bicycles. Tourists can rent the bikes free of charge for “green” bicycle trips around the Miyun landscape. The five rental stations will be located at Yunhu Holiday Resort, Qingjinding, Shengquan Mountain Resort, Tanghexiang Caoyuan and Gubeikou Hedong Village. Each base provides mountain bikes and tandems. These bases are connected to the Folk Customs Village, creating six different scenic bicycle routes for tourists to view and enjoy. The bicycles at these stations will be offered to guests free of charge until the end of the year. To rent the bikes, tourists must bring their passports and pay a refundable deposit of 200-300 yuan. Alternatively, tourists can use their hotel card from the resort areas to conduct the rental procedure.
