Foreign Swimmer Loses Cool, Chucks Child Aside

Foreign Swimmer Loses Cool, Chucks Child Aside
Jul 09, 2015 By eChinacities.com

A foreigner who was swimming at a pool in Chaoyang got in a bit of trouble when he lost his cool in the pool earlier this week.

The male swimmer was taken by surprise when an unsupervised four-year-old crossed into his swimming lane, swimming the length of the pool perpendicular to the actual swimming lane direction.

The foreign male grabbed the little girl by the legs which caused her head to go under the water. He then hoisted the girl over his head and threw her into the adjacent swimming lane. The child's head went under the water a second time, causing her to cry. The foreigner then continued swimming.

The child's mother was nearby, but it was not said whether she was actively watching the child or not. Regardless, she called the police who took everybody to the police station where the police examined video footage and made records of the incident. The child’s mother requested a written apology, but that was refused by the foreigner.

The child was unhurt in the incident because she was wearing floaties the whole time.

Whoa! The mother requested an apology and the man refused? In Canada, where I live, or in the U.S., that man would have been charged with endangering an infant. Who the hell does that to a four year-old? I hope he is banned from the pool and fired from his job.

Not to take away from the fact that in this country you do not do actions that draw attention to yourself in a negative light, but please Echinacities. Soon CCTV International's Yang Rui (were he working for the BBC or CCN would have been sacked) will make another Sweeping Out The Foreign Trash comment following another round of "foreign band players for the orchestra behaving uncivilized on trains" and "drunk Britons trying to rape helpless victims in front of subway entrances under the full lights and with cameras filming from every angle". Then the visa policies will be tightened again followed by some goose stepping exhibitions in the capital and then watch planes fly all over, pressing the boundaries like never before..... oh wait, thats already happening now. Fun world we live in. An old Millie Vanillie Song comes to mind, but instead of Blame it on the Rain, Blame it on the Foreigner.

This story is completely fabricated. I've seen this image before. The image for this story is the CCTV footage displayed on someone's computer screen. The date is faked. The incident happened years ago and was apparently settled with a payout to the family (If you can believe any of the reported facts). This is what echinacities is all about--circulating fake news from dubious sources. The guy from Shandong IS the guy from Jinan IS the guy from Chaoyang.

If you watch the video, the guy doesn't TOSS he kind of picks her up and puts her in another lane. It's not like he hulk tossed her through the wall. He ran into her while swimming laps. The women in the video (and some Chinese guy chimes in) "Look, he never hit her!" But actually, his arm hit her while underwater. And you can tell he knows she is there and stops. Anyway, Chinese should supervise their children better. I have seen many stories of children being hit by cars, being attacked by crazy people or animals cause a parents wasn't looking after their toddler child. This guy should not have done what he did... but the Chinese parents need to learn how to watch their children!

You only need to go to the parks, zoos, grocery stores, and kindergardens during the spring and summer time to see so many kids squatting and whizzing from their extra large hole in the pants that never covers up the genital regions. Imagine if adults could do this....... just thinking out loud.

@tsmithfi - Haha. That's true, and while the grandparents do supervise them a little better, that's probably why the parents obviously don't have a clue what they are doing. But what can you expect from a culture where a marriage is most often composed of a business deal for the purpose of pumping out children to please your parents?

There was another story in Shandong. The guy was a university teacher. I don't understand why expats go to pools in China. You have expect stupidity and uncivilized behavior.

Last time I tried to go swimming, it was so crowded even in the deep end that if you just tried to do a back float you couldn't without a limb whacking someone. That morning there was water in the pool but by the end of the day, there were just people trying to use what little water was left for bathing.

Englteachted -> Yup, I never go to pools here, it's overcrowded and gods knows when was the last time they cleaned it and changed the water. When I feel like swimming I drive 2 hours West of Zhuhai, empty beaches everywhere.

Where is Zhuhai? Close to what? I would love being on a beach tight about now. Are there any decent beaches? I tried DLian a couple of years ago but was very dissapointed. I long for the white sandy beaches of Phuket....
