At 3:00 in the morning on October 16th, snow had started to fall in Daqing city of Heilongjiang province and its surrounding counties; at around 5:00, snow had accumulated on top of cars, roof tops, and on roads. Temperature are still moderately cool and with tree leaves still green, the white of the snow seemed a bit out of place but was still very beautiful to behold.

At around 16:00 on October 16th, Harbin also saw its first snowfall this winter season. At around 17:00, patches of ice started to form on some of the roads.

According to meteorologists, Harbin and Daqing are both located in the mid-section of Heilongjiang province and the two cities having their first snowfall in mid-October is a rather normal (though rare) phenomenon considering climate patterns in the region.
