First Group of Foreign Tourists Ride Bicycles for Free with Cards in Wuhan
Jul 10, 2009 By eChinacities.com

On Jul 5th, five tourists from Ghana, Germany, Austria and America went bike riding for free by using rented cards previously only available to residents in Wuhan city. It’s reported that this was the first group of foreign tourists who ride free bicycles with these cards in Wuhan.

It’s also reported that since the service spots of free bicycle rental were set up, many foreign tourists came in hopes that they could also hire the bicycles, and went to the spots to apply for these rental cards. However, the cards are only available to Wuhan citizens and settled members of the population here. Knowing this, the city management office of Wuchang district immediately contacted Xinfeida Company in charge of the bicycle service to negotiate the issue. Because it concerns so many foreign tourists in Wuhan, the final decision was made. It was guaranteed by the Wuhan Observer International Youth Hotel’s director that foreign tourists in a certain hotel could apply for renting cards and get the free bicycles renting service.
