The first "Energy Forum Asia" opened in Guangzhou, Sunday Aug. 9th, with Wu Jianmin, the former Chinese Ambassador to France and well-known Chinese diplomat, acting as secretary general. According to reports published by Guangzhou Daily, 600 enterprises, experts and big names from Asian countries and regions are to attend the forum.

The "Energy Forum Asia" is a non-governmental and non-profit organization that serves as a platform for government officials, specialists and top executives from leading energy companies to exchange knowledge, relate experiences and forge new partnerships to respond to the energy challenges that Asia faces today.

The theme of this year's forum is "Energy Revolution: Growth, Green and Cooperation" and its main goal is to establish a permanent communication mechanism to discuss ways to establish a low-carbon economy in Asia.
