First ASEM Culture and Arts Festival begins in Beijing

The Asian European Classical Symphony Concert has taken the stage at the National Center for the Performing Arts as the first ASEM Culture and Arts Festival opened on September 2nd in Beijing. Conducted by China’s renowned conductor Chen Xieyang (陈燮阳), 5 artists from Poland, Denmark, Germany, The Philippines and China will be performing eastern and western classical music works together. Themed "Sharing Diversity and Innovation", the week-long event includes music, dance, drama, a film screening and a book publication. Four shows from Mongolia, India, The Philippines and other countries will be staged during the festival, as well as five European classical concerts.
