A man in Qingdao’s attempt at suicide was thwarted yesterday, when firefighters blasted him back through the window he was threatening to jump out of with a water cannon.
The man was sitting on the ledge of a fifth floor apartment and throwing trash and clothes that he’d set on fire down onto the street below. Emergency services were called, and police and firefighters, along with members of the public tried to dissuade the man from jumping, to no avail.
The police were unable to grab him from inside the apartment, so they came up with an idea; the firefighters used a water cannon to blast the man back through the window whilst policemen inside the apartment grabbed him and took control of the situation.
The incident spread rapidly on social media with some commenters praising the firefighters, whilst others thought that the man should be allowed to die, if that’s what he wants.

It's because of face that these things happen. Face forces people to hold in their emotion. Anyone with a functioning brain knows that that is the dumbest thing to do. Adults can freely express their emotions to each other and then just get over it. When you hold it in you will explode at some point or die of a stroke or heart attack.

The idea is not bad, but the fact that they succeeded shows how skillful these firefighters are. I'd be against doing this because of fear the water jet would not hit at the right place and the guy would fall.
