Feb 17, 2009 By eChinacities.com

At 23:07 on the evening of February 7, a MD-11 freighter from Indiana, America, landed at the Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport. This initiated the successful start of services and capped the introduction and production preparation work of the FedEx Asia Pacific Hub Project developed over the past five years. From this time, FedEx will have 136 freighters, serving 16 international freight routes, landing at this new hub every week and covering all the over 220 countries and regions that FedEx serves.  The FedEx Asia Pacific Hub Project is one of the core projects of the expansion project of the Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport. It is located to the east of the East Runway of the Airport, and in the northeast part of the Airport. The FedEx Asia Pacific Hub will become the center of FedEx operations in the entire Asia and Pacific area in the coming 30 years, and further boost the trade exchanges between Asia and the EU.
