Father Induces Epileptic Fit in Son after Forcing Him to Set off Fireworks
Mar 05, 2015 By eChinacities.com

A father, who made his son set off firecrackers, in a bid to ‘toughen him up’, only succeeded in giving the timid child a mild epileptic fit.

Xiao Bing, who fell on his head when he was one year old, has always been extremely meek and frightened of loud noises, as well as seemingly harmless creatures such as insects and kittens.

In order to ‘train his courage’, Xiao Bing’s father bought a box of firecrackers and fireworks and forced Xiao Bing to set them off. Xiao Bing did as he was told, but when the fireworks went off, he collapsed to the floor, crying, convulsing and foaming at the mouth.

Xiao Bing’s father took him to the hospital a few days later and he was diagnosed with mild epilepsy. The doctor advised that children’s nervous systems can be very delicate and strongly opposed the idea of terrifying them in order to ‘toughen them up’.

I'm willing to bet it was the father who dropped him on his head in the first place. Damage him and blame him for being damaged

I don't understand how firecrackers have become part of china's culture to begin with! I mean ages ago villagers and peasants used firecrackers to scare off wild animals from their herds and families which was thoroughly understandable back then...and now, what doesn't make a slightest sense is people are still doing it.

They really raise the bar now. It's not just one dumbass doing one stupid action anymore. Where in the world would anyone assume his child could possibly need something like tolerance to noise as part of life learning? Just fucking where? Even child labor sounds less worse than Chinese parenting at that point.

Very sad for the son here. The father is an idiot and has no idea about being a responsible parent.
