The family of a middle aged woman who came to an unfortunate end when she was crushed by a wall whilst dancing in a public square has received a settlement of 510,000 RMB.

Two other women were injured when the wall came down, though fortunately they made a full recovery. The family of the deceased woman, surnamed Ding, took the construction company responsible for building the wall to court and demanded 600,000 RMB in damages.

After investigation into the incident, it was found that the wall was poorly constructed and posed a serious health and safety issue. The Kunming Intermediary People’s Court ruled in favor of the Ding family and ordered the construction company to pay 510,000 RMB in compensation
