There are more than 100 international exhibitions of all kinds every year in Shanghai requiring language professionals of all kinds. As the Shanghai Expo draws near, related institutions and organizations, even travel agencies, need more people with these skills. Shanghai has already in place proficiency testing to ascertain the ability of speakers of Japanese, German, French, Spanish, Arabic, Italian, Russian and Portuguese.
