Engine Fire Grounds Air China Flight at Fuzhou Airport, No Casualties

An Air China flight leaving Fuzhou yesterday morning at 8am, was grounded when its right engine caught fire. All relevant emergency units were dispatched and the fire was successfully extinguished. No casualties were reported.

Fire trucks arrived on the scene and sprayed foam at the flaming engine. Some Netizens said that the fire trucks first approached the wrong plane before locating the Air China jet.

The plane in question, a Boeing 738 was preparing to take off to Beijing from Fuzhou. The flight was supposed to take off at 7:45 am from Fuzhou and arrive a 10:35 am in Beijing.

A number of flights were delayed because of the incident. The airport resumed normal operations by 9:38 am.
