Once again, Guangzhou is entering into its high-temperature period. According to local law, between June and October, companies are not allowed to stop their workers from working outside in the heat, and must pay employees who work outside an allowance of 150 RMB per month.
Employers must also take responsibility to provide their workers with cool and refreshing drinks during this period. Workers who are not provided with these benefits are able to complain to the authorities, and companies will face a fine between 2,000 and 10,000 RMB should they fail to adhere to these policies.
