Drunken Foreign Student Rescued after Falling off Jiankou Great Wall
May 16, 2012 By eChinacities.com

On May 13, a group of over 40 foreign students went camping at Jiankou Great Wall, an undeveloped or ‘wild’ section of the Great Wall in Huairou District.  At around 1:00 on May 14, a 24 year-old Canadian male from the group in a state of inebriation decided walking on the wall while drunk was a sensible thing to do. Surprise surprise, he fell off and lost consciousness. Lucky for him, a friend who was with him at the time had enough sense to immediately call 119 emergency services for help. By 4.30, thanks to the help of local villagers, an ambulance team finally made it to the victim who, fortunately, was not in a life-threatening condition.
