Drunk Man in Wrong House Mistakes Owner for Thief, Kills Her
Jun 12, 2015 By eChinacities.com

A drunk Nanning man stumbled into the wrong apartment after having too much to drink and beat the elderly woman living there to death after mistaking her for a thief.

Lian had had too much to drink and walked the wrong door in his building. He stumbled into the apartment of a 77 year old woman. In his hammered state, he thought she has a thief, and started to hit her. She was later taken to the hospital, and died there from her injuries.

Lian did not even realize that he was in trouble until the police arrived on the scene and arrested him. He has been detained and will be charged with the intent to injure.

The suspect worked for China Telecom, and had attended Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and held a masters from the University of Sunderland in the U.K. He is 31 years old.

This man is a hero and role model to all. He has achieved a lot in his 31 years. He travelled the world and became a master in his art. He came home and bravely fought the intruder. His impressive physical strength proved too much for his nemisis who collapsed against his powerful onslaught. Once this brave warrior's true potential is realised he will truely go places in life. I can see this man running the country some day.

Anyone else notice that the up-votes are disabled for any comment that speaks truth or criticizes China? Worse how ONLY the down-vote button works on those same comments.........

Chinese legal cases are so interesting cos their really really unpredictable and there's so many factors at play. It's what would happen if you gave a tin pot/crony backing regime the rule of a partially industrialized country.

I used to live in Nanning. NOBODY leaves their door unlocked as it is the thieving capitol of China. The story reads like another homily warning of the dangers of excessive drinking.

'Intent to injure'--seeing how he beat her to death while 'drunk' (I've done crazy things under the influence...nothing approaching that), there was more than intent. I wonder if he will get off more easily than the Canadian woman who bumped into the old lady on the Great Wall.

At the end of the day he murdered an innocent person. He should be brought to justice. There is no excuse for this kind of behaviour. His employment credentials mean nothing...He's committed the ultimate crime.

When a man kills a woman there is always an excuse. And clearly this guy's family has strong connections because he went to school abroad and was given a job at China Telecomm. He murders an old lady and gets to walk.

So many things wrong with this article: 1) How did he just aimlessly "stumble" into her apartment? Was the door locked? 2) Why would an sole elderly women leave her door unlocked? 3) Charged with "intent to injure" sounds like a diluted charge... possibly because of family ties... shouldn't it be "manslaughter" at least? 4) Why do they point out his education and work background? Is that relevant? 5) Did the idiot not realize it wasn't his apartment? This is just too much stupidity in one article without enough info. Only the best and brightest here!
