The suggested retail price for firecrackers in Beijing for the coming Spring Festival for the Year of the Tiger is 20 RMB, a decrease of 30% compared to last year. Supermarkets including 10 Chaoshifa (超市发) stores in Haidian District and Huahui Huachen Supermarket in Chaoyang District will be selling firecrackers during Spring Festival. Since the three-day New Year holiday, sales of some firecrackers have already begun outside the fifth ring road in Beijing.
