A direct flight from Chengdu to London is expected to open in September of 2013, freeing Chengdu residents from having to fly through Beijing, Shanghai, or Guangzhou. Members of the Civil Aviation Administration of China met earlier this month with representatives from British Airways to discuss plans for the flight and decided on the September 2013 schedule.
