Dinosaur Tracks Influencing Chinese Ancestors in Chongqing

According to an article published in the Geological Bulletin of China on October 15th, a team of Chinese and American scientists recently discovered evidence of Chinese ancestors being heavily influenced by dinosaur tracks. In a remote village named Lianhua Baozhai located in Qijiang County in southwest Chongqing, tracks of both human beings and dinosaurs were discovered. The research paper was published by Xing Lida and Adriana Mel from Stanford University and Chen Yu from the Capital Museum of China. The research suggests that folklore and local nomenclature is intricately tied to the presence of dinosaur tracks. Xing Lida is currently pursuing his doctoral degree at the Department of Biological Sciences of the University of Alberta in Canada. Qijiang County’s Lianhua Baozhai, “Lotus Mountain Fortress” in Chinese, has a large number of dinosaur tracks—350-400 footprints that have already been preserved.
