David Beckham Appointed Ambassador of Chinese Super League

Last month, China Daily announced that David Beckham had been appointed an ambassador of the Chinese Football Association Super League (CSL), a move that CSL hopes will help rebuild its tarnished imaged with domestic and international audiences alike. On March 20, Beckham arrived, via private jet, in Beijing to begin his highly anticipated tour of China.  As he is also the ambassador for China’s youth football program, he held his first press conference as ambassador at the Historians Hutong Primary School in Beijing’s Dongcheng District. Beckham and his wife will visit Beijing, Qingdao and Wuhan during a five-day trip, flying out of Beijing on March 25.
