Dancing Aunties in Xi’an could be fined for Disturbing the Peace under New Law
Feb 02, 2015 By eChinacities.com

A new rule rolled out by the Xi’an Noise Pollution Police could see dancing aunties fined up to 500 RMB for their antics.

The rule, which came into effect on February 1, specifically includes square dancing and noisy spinning tops, and prohibits the use of noisy speakers in public places. Initial fines start at 200 RMB and organizers can be fined 500 RMB.

This will no doubt come as a relief to nearby residents- dancing aunties are the subject of much vitriol from the general public for their noisy habits and have been previously slammed as ‘embarrassing China’ when they took the show overseas.

Garbo

The women in the picture look ridiculous. Their clothes look like something a child would wear. I guess they shouldn't have been turning in their teachers and parents during the 60's -70's.
