Dalian’s International Beer Festival
Jun 29, 2009 By eChinacities.com

This year marks the 11th annual Dalian International Beer Festival, held for 2 weeks from the end July into the second week in August. Originally the festival was held in Beijing but then moved to Dalian in 2002. The beer fest has not only famous domestic beers like Yanjing but also San Miguel and Budweiser among 200 other beers from all over the world. The beer companies sponsor drinking contests as well as various tastings and beer expositions to educate consumers about their beers. There are music and outdoor parties for your enjoyment and you won’t be sorry for heading up to China’s northern coast.

The Dalian International Beer Festival’s outdoor guzzling activities take place in one of Asia’s largest squares, Xinghai Square, an enormous star shaped area perfectly situated on the bay, and visitors get their fill of the best cold beer the country has to offer amongst thousands of other enthusiastic beer drinkers. With an area of 45,000 square meters, Xinghai Square’s perfect location and ample supply of brew is the reason 2 million people guzzled 1,800 tons of beer last year.
